Wizz Air now flying to Belgrade
From Cologne/Bonn to one of Eastern Europe’s most exciting cities – from 17 July the Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air will be offering flights three times a week from Cologne Bonn Airport to the Serbian capital, Belgrade. They will be flying to the “Gateway to the Balkans” on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with an Airbus A321 (take-off: 21:55 from Cologne/Bonn, arrival in Belgrade: 23:55). Return flights will be on the same days (departure from Belgrade: 19:10, arrival in Cologne: 21:20).
“Eastern Europe is a very important market for us. We have been hoping to add Belgrade to our schedule for some time now and we are very pleased that we can once again offer our passengers flights to this unusual destination, for the first time after a break of some years. With its broad cultural offering, Serbia's largest city is interesting for individual tourists, as a trade fair, economic and media centre of the country it is also interesting for business travellers,” explains Johan Vanneste, CEO of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH.
With its picturesque location at the confluence of the Sava and the Danube rivers, the metropolis has a population of around 1.34 million. An impressive medieval fortress, countless Serbian Orthodox churches and many magnificent buildings from the socialist period make Belgrade a destination packed with diversity, perfect for a city break. There is plenty to discover, including a lively club, art and restaurant scene, and in some places it is still possible to see traces of the Balkan War.
Belgrade is Wizz Air’s ninth destination from Cologne/Bonn. Starting now flights can be booked at www.wizzair.com.
